Antique Victorian era CHRISTENING DRESS GOWN BONNET Lace Provenance 1899. This is an antique Christening dress that comes with provenance.
The note read, "Sister Ethel's christening dress and cap born in 1899". The dress is made of a lace that I can't identify - obviously antique and exquisite - attached to a bodice that is covered with another type of lace. Two blue posies are at either side of the bodice.
Overall condition of this set is very good - I would have said excellent but I discovered a few tiny places where the lace on the skirt has separated - can't really be seen unless you are looking for them. I have not laundered this set because the lace is so fragile. Outstanding piece for any collection. New England estate sale find.
